OUR SERVICES

Initiative Management and Project Coordination

With years of hands-on experience undertaking sensitive logistical operations, Kaea can support organisations, by managing and coordinating repatriation initiatives from one end of the journey to the other.

Expert coordination, planning and delivery

Once agreements have been reached, successful planning and delivery of returns can be challenging. There may also be cultural elements to factor into certain stages that will require your full attention. Kaea can advise on, guide, or manage your projects in many areas, including:

  • liaising with communities and representatives;
  • developing a preliminary budget;
  • identifying suppliers and vendors for packaging, crating, and transport;
  • establishing the project timeline, goals, and objectives;
  • reviewing transfer agreements;
  • itinerary planning and developing the programme for official transfer;
  • delivering official briefings;
  • producing internal/external activities such as public panel events, staff presentations and discussions, and press events;
  • supporting your communications team.

About the images

In the first 12 months of the Covid-19 global pandemic, four toi moko (Māori mummified tattooed heads) were repatriated from Germany to Aotearoa New Zealand in a project coordinated by Te Arikirangi Mamaku-Ironside during his time with the Karanga Aotearoa Repatriation Programme. The images shared on this page were taken at a ceremony that took place on 13 October 2020 at the Ethnologisches Museum in Berlin. Hermann Parzinger, President of Stiftung Preußischer Kulturbesitz is shown here with Te Arikirangi. The bottom image also features Hinemoana Baker, Kaea's cultural and creative advisor.
